Well, this dude looks like a lady. I finished him today. Hard to believe he started out as a head blank from Braylu. I'll definitely be getting more of those Buzz!

Braylu head
I Decided to use a Braylu head for this project. Buzz sells them as head blanks. It's a clean canvas you can do anything on. Here are some pictures of a Steven Tyler look alike i am working on.

Been a long time!
Its been a long time since my last blog. I have been very busy and just kept putting it off until i realized half the year was gone! I am still working on my museum and of course making figures. I started one recently for a customer. She wanted a pixie and gave me a picture to go by. Here are my results so far. I started with the sculpture on the botton and after sanding and painting and sealing, I added her eyes and eyebrows. I will post the results when I am finished.
I was asked where I get my eyes. I have several places to go, Braylu makes very nice eyes and their iris can be painted from behind to enhance the color any hue you like. Puppets and props sells very nice eyes as well and has different categories. I also buy from doll suppliers throughout the internet. I do however make my own most of the time from wooden balls I buy at Joanns Fabrics or Michaels craft supplies. I all depends on the look I want to get.

Christmas deals
I have listed several figures on ebay for sale. My conversion figures are the lowest priced on the internet. I make the prices low because I want everyone to be able to afford my figures.
I started making these figures as a hobby. I enjoyed it so much, I wanted to share them with everyone interested in ventriloquism. If you would like something made for you, I also do custom figures. Full size as well as conversion. You can reach me at gepettosworkshop@yahoo.com

Mortimer goes to Russia
I received an order from Igor in Russia, He told me he wants to become a ventriloquist and wanted me to build a full size Mortimer character for him with blinkers, crossing eyes, raising and lowering eyebrows and moving mouth. I promised I would put him on my blog as I worked on him. I am using the spring connected to the eyeball method for the side to side as well as the crossing eyes. The rod and tube for the raising and lowering eyebrows and the standard leather blinker mechanics. Here he is so far.
I also had a whim after seeing the travelocity Gnome commercial so many times to go ahead and make one. Here is a picture of him as well.He is a 24 inch standing figure, I will post pictures of him as well when he is finished.
I have been blessed with work this summer and am greatful to all my customers for choosing me to make your figures. I know the economy is bad and i am keeping my prices lower to make them affordable without breaking the bank. I hope everyone has had a great start to summer. Careful of the heat! As always, if anyone has any questions about figure making or ventriloquism, feel free to email me at gepettosworkshop@yahoo.com. I answer any and all questions.

I consider myself honored and “blessed” to have known him. He helped me in alot of aspects through the years in both skills, humility and professionalism. He was more than just the owner of Maher studios he was a teacher, a friend and mentor to many.
We all looked forward to seeing what would be posted in his blog and what new creations he had come up with. He would answer any and all questions given him and if he didn’t have the answer, he would point you in the right direction. Clinton was happy when he was in his shop or doing anything that had to do with Ventriloquism. As the saying goes and as he said himself, “when you are doing something you love to do, you will never have worked a day in your life. In one of his final posts his wife Adelia asked him ” Isn’t there something you would like to do other than ventriloquism?” His answer: I’d have to think about that one. We will miss you Mr Detweiler. I hope I can be half the man that you were. Hopefully then, I will be able to meet you in person in Gods great Heaven.
